Student Spotlight: Promise Chinseu

Wow! What a beautiful smile Promise has! She is a bright 13 year old girl from Mbayani. She is the second born daughter in a family of seven children. She loves to attend the Roman Catholic church with her family. Because of financial costs, Promise was unable to attend school after the fifth grade and has been on the streets for two and a half years. Agape House is so glad to welcome her in and provide her with and education that will hopefully keep that beautiful smile on her face for years to come.

What is your favorite thing about Agape House?

She loves the free education along with learning about God.

What have you learned at school this week?

She learned division problems in mathematics.

What would you love to be when you grow up?

Promise wants to be an accountant because she has the desire to count money.

What is your favorite game to play?

Jump rope and other athletic games.

What five words best describe you?

Humble. Kind. Patient. Optimistic. Intelligent.

Who is your best friend?

Shakira from Mbayni.

What is the nicest thing you have ever done for someone?

Promise helped a girl at school who had epilepsy.

What do you know about Jesus?

He is the Son of God.

What do you think heaven is like?

It is the most beautiful place.

If you could give a gift to every child in the world, what would it be?

clothes, food, and housing.


Heavenly Father, the smile that Promise has puts a smile on our face. We know that she too puts a smile on yours as well. You are so delighted in her life. You sing over her with your love each moment. You love her in a thousand ways each and every day. Let us remember her this week in our thoughts and prayers. Bless her and encourage her with your presence and love. Amen.
