Student Spotlight: Spiwe Pemba

Isn't she adorable?!

Isn’t she adorable?!

Spiwe Pemba is a nine year old girl from Zomba Mkwate. She is the youngest daughter of the family with five brothers and two sisters. Her father works as a security guard.  Spiwe enjoys attending church with her parents each week.  After first grade, Spiwe did not continue formal education and has had to earn money on the streets for two years. We are so thankful that Spiwe has an opportunity to attend Agape House. She has a bright future ahead of her!

What is your favorite thing about coming to Agape House?

The free education and learning the Word of God.

What have you learned there this week?

She learned a lot of things but can’t remember them. (It’s okay, we have all been there!)

What would you like to be when you grow up? Why?

Spiwe wants to be a teacher because she enjoys playing with children.

What is your favorite thing to do?

Cook with her friends. ( I second that sister!)

What five words best describe you?

Humble. Patient. Optimistic. Obedient. Courageous.

Who is your best friend?

Tamara

What is your happiest memory?

Her mother took her to a party where she had a lot of fun.

What do you imagine heaven is like?

It is so beautiful and full of God’s glory.

If you could give a gift to every child in the world, what would it be?

Clothes.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the beautiful life that you have given all of us. Today, we are especially thankful for Spiwe. She is such a precious young girl and is even more precious to you. Lord, send her the guidance that she needs and the motivation needed to follow her dreams of becoming a teacher. Fill her with your life and reveal your love to her. Amen

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth]

3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; 8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” -Psalm 121
