Welcome to this week’s student spotlight, Usher Bowa. He is an intelligent, fifteen year old boy from the district of Mbayani where he lives with his aunt Mercy. Sadly, both of his parents passed away some time ago, which has caused Usher some sorrow in life. After fifth grade, Usher was unable to attend public school because he lacks financial support. He has been on the streets for the past two years. Although Usher has faced sadness in life thus far, he maintains joy throughout his circumstances. We pray that Agape House would be a source of joy, hope, and learning for him.

Heavenly Father, thank you for being the source of our joy even amidst suffering and hardship. We are so grateful that you enter into our suffering and pain with us. You don’t leave us alone in it. You see. You know. You cry with us. We are so encouraged to hear that Usher maintains his joy even though he lost his parents many years ago. We know that Usher is near to your heart. Thank you that his aunt is there to care for him. Please bless him with all of his needs, but especially with your love. Amen.
